ABOUT FRIM

FRIM, the 5-star rated running route, is one of the leading institutions in tropical forestry research in the world. Located 16 km from the heart of Kuala Lumpur, FRIM is accessible for most urbanites. This makes FRIM an ideal location for recreational activities such as jogging in a natural ambience.

Joggers start to jog around the campus as early as 5.00 am daily as well as during weekends and public holidays. Joggers are required to jog only at designated areas. Jalan Foxworthy, Jalan Jelutong, Jalan Kapur, Kepong Botanic Garden and Jalan Kampung Jawa are the areas allocated for this purpose.

The Institute was awarded the MS ISO 9001 certification since 2007, and gazetted as a Natural Heritage Site on 10 February 2009 under the National Heritage Act 2005. FRIM was also declared as a National Heritage on 10 May 2012 and is working towards attaining the recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
